"The mission of the Walpole Fire Department is to protect life and property from the threat of fires, medical emergencies, natural and manmade disasters.  In order to fulfill this mission we provide planning, prevention, education, incident control and mitigation."

The Walpole Fire Department has its primary responsibility to the citizens of Walpole. Walpole  is 20 square miles in area, with a population of approximately 23,000. Protecting $1.7 billion dollars worth of property.

The Fire Department operates 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week with its 34 Full time Firefighters, Paramedics, and Chief Officers with  Full time Advanced Life Support EMS and fire prevention/suppression staff from our 1 station.

With 4 Engines, 1 Ladder Truck, 2 Ambulances, 2 Small Brush Trucks, 1 Large Brush Truck, 1 Special Hazards Unit,and with Support and utility vehicles the department handles the wide variety of needs for the town.

Open Burning Season

Open Burning for 2018 is complete.

Leaves and grass may be taken to the compost dump on Robbins Rd if you have a compost permit from the Town Hall.(Click here for more information.)

Kidde Inc, and the Consumer Product Safety Commision have announced a recall to replace certain Kidde dual sensor smoke alarms. Kidde has sent copies to reail customers with instructions.

Firefighter of The Year Awards

The Walpole Fire Department would like to congratulate Lt. David Emswiler, FF Tom Morandi, FF Christopher Shea and FF Donavan Minutolo for being chosen by the Heroic Awards Committee for outstanding acts of heroism and bravery. They were nominated by Westwood Fire Chief William Scoble for their response to a place crash that occured at 40 Pear Tree Dr. in Westwood on July 16, 2016.

Walpole Fire Announcment
